Clock Tower, Croydon
At this big APOW-led arts event, young people from different groups came together to share their work.
There were performances and sharings from The Red Cross, Soundmix, Shpresa, Mustaqbal, Young Roots, The Children’s Society and other young people who performed individually.
Around 155 young people and adults attended from more than 23 nationalities. Seven short films made by young people from RefugeeYouth and the wider network were screened, and we ran workshops and Q&As to discuss the issues raised in the films.
A group of young people from Croydon were involved in all aspects of organising and running the event, and others from the RefugeeYouth network contributed by running workshops in dance, drama, banner making, face painting and henna. The event built an extraordinary atmosphere of talent and friendship.
